Email from family--- Hi, I’m Willie Bohlmann from Hayden, Alabama. My dad Gus Bohlmann was a resident in your memory care unit until his passing in January. I want to express my appreciation for all the excellent and compassionate care he received while living there. I visited him several times while he was there and in fact I stayed 24 x 7 for 3 to 4 days just before he passed away. Your facility is top notch and everyone is very professional, compassionate and loving. I can’t imagine Dad living in a better home. In fact I already miss coming to visit Dad and seeing everyone at Silverridge. I couldn’t be happier with the care he received there. I’d especially like to thank Julie Brown and Stacy Neuhaus, they’re awesome!!! They are wonderful people. Actually all the Silverridge employees I came in contact with were very good. You have a super facility staffed with outstanding employees. Thank you very much and keep up the good work! Willie
Assisted living facilities are for people needing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) - such as eating, bathing, dressing, laundry and assistance with medications - but wishing to live as independently as possible. Assisted living exists to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing homes. Here at SilverRidge, we believe in aging in place. So you can move in independently and graduate levels of care without having to move.
Do you take Medicaid or Medicare?
We are not Medicare Certified but we are Medicaid Certified. Residents are eligible after 3 years of private pay in the Main Assisted Living and 2 years in the Memory Support Assisted Living.
Do you have planned activities?
We are adding and changing our activity program every month to better meet the needs of our current residents. We go shopping to local businesses weekly as well as trips to other locations monthly. There are multiple activities to attend every day at SilverRidge. There are calendars on this website to view for the month.
Are utilities covered in the base rate?
Yes, all utilities including basic cable/internet are included in the cost of the apartment with the exception of telephone. There is a small monthly fee for phone. It includes a land line and free long distance. We understand some folks have a cell phone, but we require a land line as well to communicate with residents directly. If residents are in need of more cable/internet options than we provide, the cable provider would need to be contacted which may result in an extra charge incurred by the resident. Wifi is included but it is limited to basic. This would mean streaming/heavy bandwidth use may be slow or unable to be provided.
At SilverRidge we have levels of care that can be increased or decreased to meet the current needs of the resident. Levels are based on a point system dependent upon what Activities of Daily Living they need to be helped with. The costs for these levels increase dependent upon the point total. An assessment is done to determine where the resident lands as far as points and level of care charge.
Do you accept Long Term Care Insurance?
Yes we do. We have multiple residents with insurance policies that we can assist and help prepare proper paperwork. Most insurance companies pay in arrears and directly to the resident. If your insurance company can pay directly to the facility let us know.
Do you have a direct bank withdrawal program?
Yes. We have a program set up with our financial carrier to handle the paperless payment transactions.
How can I ensure that I make the right decision?
Choosing the right Assisted Living facility takes a lot of research to ensure you find the best fit possible. We encourage you to take a tour of our facility, join us for a meal, or observe residents to get a sense of our atmosphere, and most important, be sure your individual needs will be met. It is recommended to visit at least 2 facilities to get a feel for how different facilities run. We all have the same goal, but not all have the same amenities or atmosphere that is to the residents liking. Shop around, do the homework to make sure their home will be to their liking.
